Roxie Johnson is a printmaker with over 30 years of experience as an artist and educator. She holds an MFA in Illustration from Syracuse University as well as 60+ graduate hours in the visual arts. Fellowships and grants include the Skidmore College Summer Six Program and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Roxie specializes in solar plate etching (intaglio) and has developed unique methods of integrating digital technology and traditional printmaking techniques. In search of environmentally friendly tools and processes, she has both participated and assisted in programs offered in the Northeastern and Southwestern states, and has studied in Florence, Italy with master printers Dan Welden and Ron Pokrasso. A recipient of numerous awards and honors, Roxie’s work continues to be exhibited in juried competitions nationally as well as in galleries of the Mid-Hudson Valley and Metropolitan area. Accomplishments include: induction into the National Association of Women Artists (NYC), inclusion in the Smithsonian Institute Archives of American Art, and the presentation of two Memorial Awards by NAWA in 2004 and 2005. Roxie currently works and teaches out of her printmaking studio located in Hyde Park,
